NVH and Acoustics Webinar Series
Advances in NVH and Acoustics Virtualization to Maximize Product Reliability, Quality, and Sustainability
Acoustics play a vital role in developing an effective, quieter, and sustainable product across industries. Engineers can design the best performing HVAC in the world but if the sound perceived quality is not comfortable, it can impact the customer experience about the product significantly. We all wait in anticipation for the snap of a seat belt or the click of a connector. In fact, these sounds are so satisfying that it’s common to hear them in commercials.
With design cycle time reducing to level never seen before and expected quality of product design including perceived sound quality increasing. Engineers face significant challenges in managing product complexity due to multiple physics, different noise sources and predict their behaviour, sustainability-led requirements, meet regulatory norms and more. Design field failures from acoustics perspective directly affect the business and it could be too costly to fix the problem.
Simulation plays a crucial role in predicting the most optimum design level acoustic parameters early in the product design cycles and addressing engineering goals related to perceived quality, time, and cost.
Join this 3 Webinar Series on NVH and acoustics and learn how aeroacoustics, mechanical and electromagnetic simulations can be successfully implemented using Ansys simulation. We will cover the technology trends, engineering challenges and simulation solutions with covering applications from various industries including automotive, aerospace & defense, hi-tech, consumer appliances and so on.

Emerging Trends, Challenges and Solution Practices in CAE Acoustics & Sound Quality
Date: 8 December 2022 | Time: 11.30 am (IST) | 2 pm (CST)
Abstract :
Currently, product acoustic quality and acoustic comfort are becoming more and more relevant due to recent stringent regulations and sustainability initiatives. Acoustics has also become a key competitive differentiator and is perceived by customers as a true quality indicator. In this webinar we will introduce the acoustic challenges for various industries such as Automotive, Aerospace & Defense, Hi-Tech, Consumer Appliances and emerging trends, e.g., Electrification.
We will provide an overview and examples of Ansys solutions, methods, and workflows to design quieter products during the different project stages. This is to ensure acoustic design is addressed as part of the virtual design process, considering the different fluids, mechanical and electromagnetic physics as well as sound quality design itself.

Hybrid CAE NVH Simulation & Test Approach for Optimizing Acoustic Performance
Date: 15 December 2022 | Time: 11.30 am (IST) | 2 pm (CST)
Abstract :
Prediction of structure-borne noise and sound propagation can play important roles in the design of many products. Examples include noise caused by vibrating structural components, transmission of sound through thin panels and the acoustic performance of piezoelectric devices. Solving these types of acoustic wave propagation problems (and many more) can be performed in a coupled way, in which the fluid and structural domains are solved simultaneously, or in an uncoupled way, in which the structural analysis is performed first, followed by the acoustics analysis.
Prediction of acoustic performance of products early in the design state and fine-tuning acoustic characters of the final marketable product is increasing important factor for the competitive edge in the design of many common products and structures including speakers, cars, planes, buildings, sonar, and machinery. To save time and costs associated with improving acoustic performance of the product during product development cycles, modeling and simulation has become essential. Combining data from test and simulation helps engineers to understand and optimize system level acoustic performance. Join us for this webinar to learn about Ansys Mechanical and Ansys Sound solutions for acoustic modeling.

Design Quieter Products through Aeroacoustics and multi-physics simulation
Date: 21 December 2022| Time: 11.30 am (IST) | 2 pm (CST)
Abstract :
The perceived sound quality plays a central role to the general customer experience, with today’s increasing emphasis on experience design over product design. When high frequency noises emerge, it may become irritating and annoying. This is usually due to fluid flow and hence aero-acoustics becomes very important. Tonal noise can be very annoying too and is usually generated by fluids instabilities and resonance effects as well as mechanical vibration and electromagnetic harmonic forces.
This webinar will touch on various approaches for modelling aeroacoustics, covering different applications relevant to Automotive, Aerospace, Hi-Tech, Consumer Appliances, Process Industry etc., covering all range of acoustics modelling for rotational flows, high speed flows, external and internal flows.
The webinar will also give a peak insight into recent capabilities for component and system level analysis as well as sound post-processing and some coupling physics examples.
